The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he's always doing both. James A. July has been flying by...
August 4th - Now for the front door - with trying to work between rainstorms and heat - I've managed to get some of the basecoat completed - unfortunately...this is where it will stay for now, due to a much needed repair to the frame - whenever they can fit me into their schedule.

July 30th - Here are just a few more photos of what has been updated and painted and fauxed!
This sign will hang over the doorway of the entrance - once I figure out how to hammer nails into brick...hmmmm?

Still trying to come up with ideas for decorating the Entrance to the Studio!
China and Bob came by to visit and check out my work...they live in the pond behind the property.

Finished priming the Bench...now to let it dry and decide on colors!
I LOVE this mailbox - even the mail-Gal thinks it's a blast to make a delivery. It even has glo in the dark paint on it, for nighttime.
I am having more fun painting this area - using various colors has really spiced up the place. This door is NOW a chalk board. Since it was permanently closed off - why not make it work for something else, right?
More to come...
I'm now also working on making some outdoor furniture - since the best part of living here is my 'backyard'...amazing what you can do with stuff that's recycle-able - never throw out that old headboard again!!!
July 10th - As of lately, I got as far as finishing one side of the space, but work has begun again and it looks like we'll be opening fairly soon.
At first, I didn't even know where to begin - this has been a two year project waiting to happen. With the go-ahead from my landlord, who allows me to do just about anything possible, I decided to paint this space in vibrant colors. The room faces north, so there isn't much direct sunlight, which left the room feeling 'cold'. And the added challenge of wood paneling, didn't offer much in the way of finishes - so paint was the only answer (at this point).
The Plus Points to this space is that it faces the beautiful outdoors and my ever productive vegetable garden!

Also, I have a large concrete patio and private entrance - which will be conducive to small gatherings and fun activities. On my TO DO list, is figuring out an interesting look for the doors, which are just waiting for a new look! It doesn't look like much now - but we're working on it!
This is about the only area that looks cleaned up! Stay tuned, I'll be posting more pictures as the work continues! Juliana
